| Turbine: | RAM 750 ( commercial), FD3/64 my homebuilt! |
My first failed attempt at building a turbine was back in 1976. My
own design, it had a reverse flow combustion chamber, single stage radial
compressor, axial twisted blades turbine wheel and was to be propane
powered. I gave up when some internal parts melted due to faulty design.
My first successful turbine, the FD3/64, was built with Schreckling's
plans in 1995. The engine is still flying in a modified Enforcer. Right
now I have completed a second FD3/64 and am working on a Jet Hangar
Hobbies F9F Panther in which I will install my new RAM 750 turbine.
In the future I hope to collaborate with John Cabal on building a SR-71 for my two FD3/64’s. Plan to have a operational drone on the SR-71 also, a real big challenge. I enjoy flying RC aircraft but my greatest pleasure in RC models is in the building, especially the mechanical parts.

I first started flying fixed wing RC aircraft in 1974 then switched
to helicopters in 1976. Helicopters at the time were brand new . I learned
to fly with the Kalt Baron, fixed pitched rotor head, no tail rotor gyro
stabilization and a four channel airplane radio. Sure crashed a lot back
then. Flew copters until 1992 when I saw my present friends flying ducted
fans so I got the Jet Hangar Hobbies F-86. I flew that until I read Kurt
Schreckling's book on home built jet engines and have been smitten with
turbines since. ..
